You look down at my body I nervously say its yours

"Mine," you whisper assertively God, I've never felt so wanted I go mindless for you in a moment

Clinging to every word you say

You call me loved

You call me yours

You call me perfect

I wish it was always this way

You call me your boy,

Touching places that have never been manly before

And I lay there and believe every word you say

"The Bathroom Problem", a chapter by Judith Halberstam from Feminist Philosophy: A Reader, 3rd ed., 2010.

This is a wonderful read about the issues concerning trans folks in bathrooms. Most importantly for the Archive, it does not focus solely on trans women in bathrooms, as much of the "bathroom debate" does, but encompasses the experiences of GNC cis women, butches, and transmascs as they attempt to navigate trying to pee in peace.

It notably describes how the challenges faced by a transmasc person in the women's bathroom is different from the challenges they face in the men's bathroom, and the risks of each choice. It also gets into the very idea of the gender binary itself, and how bathrooms represent society's extremely rigid demand that these binaries stay in place.

I highly recommend everyone read this short piece.
