Hello everyone! Webmaster Krys here, welcoming you all to the archive.
The first entry we feel is important is one defining "Transandrophobia".
What is transandrophobia?
At the simplest level, it is discrimination against transmasculine folks.
"Isn't that just transphobia"? Yes and no - transphobia is an umbrella term that encompasses may forms of transphobia, including transmisogyny and exorsexism (discrimination against nonbinary genders). Transandrophobia is a word to describe the specific and unique challenges faced by transmasculine people.
Trans people experience a plethora of overlapping forms of discrimination and marginalization; what we have in common with each other far outweighs what we don't. By having specific words to describe unique experiences, we can better support each other and identify our own prejudices.
What transandrophobia isn't
Transandrophobia does not imply any other trans group is privileged over transmascs, nor that transmasc people are "the most oppressed".
